MONROE COUNTY -- The Monroe County Board of Supervisors heard an update Tuesday morning from the mayor and CEO of Westlake Healthcare Center for Layoffs.

ABERDEEN – In late December, City of Aberdeen officials received notice that effective Jan. 30, an agreement with the county to house city inmates at the Monroe County Detention Center is to be canceled.

AMORY – As a precaution, West Amory Elementary School dismissed early Tuesday following a lingering smell after heaters were turned on in the building.

According to the Amory Police Department, Tonya Renee Baumbach, 33, of Gordo, Alabama was charged with taking of a motor vehicle over $1,000. Monroe County Justice Court Judge Adrian Haynes set bond at $50,000.
