Gemini for Google TV Gets More Upgrades with Nano Banana, Voice Commands, and More

CES 2026 is in full swing, and we’ve already seen a ton of different brands and manufacturers introduce some of their latest and greatest gear, as well as updates to existing products. Speaking of the latter, Google recently announced new updates for Gemini on Google TV, which now comes with more features in the mix.

For one, users will now be able to know more about their favourite topics via an updated framework, which essentially allows Gemini to answer your queries with media such as images and video, and even real-time updates for sports broadcasts. Gemini’s “Deep Dives” feature also gives users narrated and interactive responses to queries.

For media, Nano Banana and Veo lets users reimagine existing photos, and even generate their own works on TV; Gemini can also search a user’s Google Photos library for specific people and moments, with support for artistic style edits via Photos Remix, and edit memories into cinematic slideshows.

Finally, the new update comes with support for settings adjustments via voice commands, allowing users to adjust settings by speaking to Gemini in a conversational manner by simply telling it when the screen brightness is too low or when enabling subtitles, all without the need to access the settings menu.

Google says that the new features will initially arrive for select TCL TVs, and will roll out to more Google TV-enabled devices throughout the 2026.
