Minnesota Golden Gophers starting quarterback Drake Lindsey was the guest on Mike Grimm’s Go Gopher Podcast today, and the redshirt freshman signal caller confirmed he will be back next season.
“There was no doubt in my mind, and I’m really excited to come back for another year here,” Lindsey said.
247 Sports’ Ryan Burns is also reporting that Lindsey has signed his revenue-sharing agreement.
This is notable news given the state of college football today, in which a quarterback of Lindsey’s caliber, with three years of eligibility remaining, would be highly coveted in the transfer portal.
Lindsey started all 12 games for the Gophers this season, completing 63% of his passes for 2,235 passing yards with 16 touchdowns and six interceptions. Minnesota can now build their offense around him.
