For the second year in a row, a record number of participants have registered for this weekend’s Honolulu Marathon: Sunday’s 26.2-mile marquee event, a 10k version that same day, and Saturday’s Kalakaua Merrie Mile. There were 42,000 registrants by Tuesday, toward an expected 44,000 total after late entrants are added; last year saw 36,121 total.
