All good things come to an end. A popular Fox News anchor said a final goodbye to a morning show after it became too much for their work-life balance. Keep reading to find out more about the shocking departure, including their last air date.
Huge Anchor Changes Across Networks
The general public becomes less trusting of news sources all the time. But cable and network television depend on news anchors connecting with the audience at home. Several news programs have made huge changes in the last few months to regain the public’s trust and viewership.

CBS News is under new ownership after a merger between Paramount Global and Skydance Media. The merger led to multiple anchor changes, including a new lead anchor on the CBS Evening News.
But CBS isn’t the only news division going through growing pains. Not even Fox, which is the leading news program in the country is immune to lineup changes.
Another Fox News Anchor Out On Morning Show
On the same day that NBC finally named Jenna Bush Hager’s permanent co-host, a Fox News anchor said a heartfelt goodbye. Curt Menefee announced on Good Day New York that he’s leaving. “January will be two years since I’ve been doing Good Day New York, but I’m not coming back in 2026,” he said during the morning broadcast.

He joined the news program, which airs on the Fox affiliate WNYW-TV, in 2024. He started with Fox Sports in 1997 as a sideline reporter. He worked his way up to anchor. He also co-hosts Fox NFL Sunday. He’ll continue with that job.
He revealed that his work-life balance was a huge factor in leaving. Curt Menefee shared with the audience that he barely sees his wife, who lives in Los Angeles, California. Traveling back and forth across the country took its toll. “I’m just saying at some point you have to make an adjustment,” the news anchor said.
Variety reported that his last air date is on Friday, December 19. But viewers can still find him calling NFL games and covering the Belmont Stakes in 2026.
Fans Sad To See Him Go

- “Sorry to see you go Curt. You still have admirers here in NYC. F**k the naysayers!”

However, others said that they never thought the NFL broadcaster was a good fit on the news program. The Fox affiliate didn’t reveal who will replace him, if anyone. Stay tuned for more on the surprising departure.
