Los Gatos is rallying behind a popular coffee shop that was badly damaged Thanksgiving night when a driver plowed into the business.
A surveillance camera captured the car slam into the Los Gatos Coffee Roasting Company on Main Street. Police said the 90-year-old driver who survived the crash was speeding and apparently driving drunk when it happened.
To help with reconstruction costs, the town’s Los Gatan newspaper set up a GoFundMe page. As of Monday night, it had raised more than $13,000.
The money will also be used to help support employees during the shop’s closure.
