New ice cream shop serving South Asian-inspired flavors to open in Overland Park

A busy southern Overland Park corridor will soon be home to a new “super-premium” ice cream shop.

Naturalz Ice Cream is coming to 6301 W. 135th St.

  • The ice cream shop plans to move into a space at Corbin Park, just off 135th and Lamar.
  • There, it will operate near Indian eatery Desi Chowrastha and the Mozarii custom clothing and alteration shop.
  • According to an announcement from Kansas City-based Block and Co., the ice cream shop is aiming to open early next year.

The brand offers “all-natural” ice cream

  • Naturalz Ice Cream offers a wide variety of flavors, made with “only natural” fruit and dairy products.
  • Its offerings range from classics like chocolate and vanilla to Indian-inspired flavors such as “Sunlit Soan Papdi,” inspired by a traditional Indian sweet with a flaky texture.
  • In addition to ice cream scoops, the shop offers other sweet treats such as faloodas, which are frozen drinks made with sweet noodles and other ingredients like ice cream and syrups, as well as cassattas, a type of layered sponge cake.

This marks the first Naturalz Ice Cream in Johnson County

  • The new Overland Park shop also serves as the first in the wider Kansas City area for the roughly two-year-old brand.
  • Naturalz is based in Washington state, with three locations in the Seattle area.
  • The brand also has a location in San Antonio, Texas.
