The Bears got new defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons in Halas Hall on Thursday and expect to have him on the field when they visit the Seahawks on Monday.
General manager Ryan Poles said he would leave that decision to coach Ben Johnson, but "would assume" Simmons will make his Bears debut Monday.
The team announced he will wear No. 99, the same as Hall of Fame defensive lineman Dan Hampton.
The Bears traded two first-round picks to the Titans for Simmons hoping he'd further propel what they anticipate to be a Super Bowl run.
Simmons, 29, has made four Pro Bowls and was an All-Pro last season. In eight seasons with the Titans, he has 46 1/2 sacks, nine forced fumbles and 414 total tackles. He had four sacks in seven games for them this season.
This was the third major trade-deadline acquisition for Poles, who dealt a second-round pick for Steelers wide receiver Chase Claypool in 2022 and a second-rounder to the Commanders for defensive end Montez Sweat the next year. He also traded linebacker Roquan Smith to the Ravens for a second-round pick in 2022.
