The Bhiwandi Nizampur City Municipal Corporation (BNCMC) in Maharashtra's Thane district is undertaking comprehensive reviews to uplift educational standards across 92 primary and 11 secondary schools. This initiative, headed by BNCMC Commissioner and Administrator Anmol Sagar, seeks to urgently address the student dropout rates and the quality of education imparted.
In assessing their current standing, the commissioner examined crucial academic metrics, such as periodic assessment test results and national-level education benchmarks like ASR and NIPUN Bharat reports. Public Relations Officer Shrikant Pardeshi highlighted the administration's resolve to bolster learning in municipal schools and flagged inadequate performances by certain school principals for potential disciplinary action.
Furthermore, the BNCMC has mandated inspections of schools needing infrastructure upgrades, proposing renovations via the District Planning Fund. An emphasis on nutrition sees protein-rich foods and fruits being integrated into mid-day meals, while a newly formed flying squad will evaluate the academic progress of students in key classes.
