A child was rescued from a sewer pipe at the Hickman Sanitation Service site in West Chester, Chester County, on Tuesday evening.
SkyForce10 was over the scene just before 6 p.m. to find a child being taken into an ambulance along with a large emergency response.

Dave March, of the West Chester Fire Department, said that the child was outside playing with other children when he fell into the pipe, which is about 12 to 14 feet in diameter. The child’s brother saw him fall and went to alert their mother, who then called 911.
The child was hanging on a rope about 4 to 5 feet down and was able to get out without any major injuries, March said.
The child was in the pipe for about 25 minutes.
The child and his family live on site, which is why he was there.
The incident is being investigated as an accident.
