Residents displaced, apartments damaged in overnight Dallas fire

Multiple apartments were damaged after a fire in Dallas on Friday morning, officials said.

According to Dallas Fire-Rescue, units were dispatched to a call regarding a fire in a restroom at an apartment located at 4503 Lake Avenue shortly before 5 a.m.

Fire-Rescue officials said firefighters responded to the scene and declared the fire extinguished at 5:18 a.m.

The fire damaged two apartments and displaced six residents and two cats, officials said.

According to officials, the American Red Cross was notified to assist those who were displaced.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation, officials said.
