The University of Iowa Athletics Department has officially released its Week 8 depth chart as the Hawkeyes look to bring home the bacon and Floyd of Rosedale. And just in time for Halloween, the OR makes a haunting return to the depth chart at quarterback.

Once again, the OR returns at quarterback, as both Hank Brown and Jeremy Hecklinski are listed as the potential starters for this week. Jimmy Sullivan is still listed as their backup.

At Strong Safety (SS) Xavier Styles gets the nod as the starter ahead of Anthony Hawkins. It is the first time in 2026 that Styles has been listed as the starter after he saw significant action against Washington. Tyler Brown does not appear on the depth chart again this week after dealing with nagging hamstring / soft tissues this fall.

Will Hahn appears on the depth chart for the first time this season at Left Guard, replacing Trent Wilson.

Otherwise, there are no other changes on this week’s depth chart since the Washington game. Hopefully the bye week has given the players time to mend to keep the starting lineup intact, and we’ll see what nuggets are dropped when Kirk Speaks later this week.

Depth Chart Notes

Positions listed with OR are ordered numerically. The starting defensive lineup will vary based on formation and personnel packages.
