Comment on Stephen Curry To Play Wednesday Following Injury Scare by ChapmansVacuum
In reply to The Human Rain Delay. You can take bad contracts into cap room, and run yourself into the tax taking on contracts for assets. Like Ballmer and the Clippers can probably recoup a ton of draft assets just tearing down this roster, and then using the money they can afford to just absorb negative deals. Now you probably have a point before its done while the bad deals are on the books you have to pay the tax, and eat some losses on a season or two. If your team can just operate like money is infinite you can leverage yourself into a intentional bad money situation to build up a wave of assets. Its more useful in a full rebuild of course where your planning on a multi year turnaround. Buyout most of the bad contracts, and develop a bunch of young players for a couple seasons just like OKC did. Think how much more aggressive OKC could have been the last 5 years if they had the GSW revenue. The biggest advantage is that GSW, when they are going to finals, allows for a payroll + tax of like 800M. So you can just keep your core, and role players, if your really good. Build up a title contender for the long haul.
