The Chargers opened the new week with 18 players on their injury report, not including veteran edge rusher Khalil Mack who took a veteran’s rest day.

Offensive tackle Joe Alt (neck), guard Kayode Awosika (fibula), cornerback Donte Jackson (hamstring), and safety Derwin James (hamstring) were all DNP on Wednesday. Alt, Jackson, and James have missed the past two games while Awosika has missed the last three.

Wide receiver Ladd McConkey began the week limited in practice, along with Quentin Johnnston and Brenen Thompson. On top of that, KeAndre Lambert-Smith had his 21-day practice window open now that he’s past his four-game minimum on IR. The Chargers have a chance to get some of their receivers back just before the bye, but will it be worth the risk?

Defensive tackles Dalvin Tomlinson, Jamaree Caldwell, and Justin Eboigbe were all limited, as well. Here’s to hoping one of the team’s best position rooms isn’t too banged up this week.
