A search is underway for two people who police say broke into a home early Thursday in Sherman Oaks and took $90,000 worth of jewelry and designer handbags.
The Los Angeles Police Department tells NBC4 Investigates that the homeowner was inside during the break in that took place on the 3500 block of Dixie Canyon Place shortly after midnight.
According to the LAPD, the homeowner called police after they heard voices coming from the first floor of the home and yelled at the suspects.
No contact was made between the homeowner and the suspects, police said. The LAPD also says no surveillance video was available.
The suspects got away with $50,000 in jewelry and $40,000 in designer handbags.
No further details were immediately available. The case remains under investigation.
