While Penn State’s current team is working through its first hiccup of the Matt Campbell era, plenty of future Nittany Lions put their talent on display under Friday night lights. Campbell’s 2027 class is now up to No. 20 in the country with plenty of flip chances still on the board.
Penn State Class of 2027 quarterback Will Wood and his No. 2 Xaverian Brothers (Ma.) Hawks suffered their first loss of the season to No. 6 Springfield Central. The three-star did, however, have an impressive touchdown run off a broken play-action pass in the loss. He’s fast!
The Nittany Lions’ 2028 quarterback, James Armstrong, fared a bit better last week as Aliquippa (Pa.) cruised to a 47-6 victory. The four-star earned Player of the Game honors from KDKA Radio.
Armstrong played well in the win, throwing at least three touchdown passes en route to a blowout.
Three-star New Jersey athlete Ka’ron Ceaser released some mid-season tape over on his Hudl page. His Winslow Township Eagles are off to a 3-2 start.
Ceaser, who will likely play defensive back at the next level, has played extremely well to start the season. He excels in man coverage but is a ballhawk as a high safety in zone, too, and is not afraid to initiate contact. When he plays down in the box, he’s great at sniffing out broken run plays and is a very sound tackler. A lot to be excited about here, and I would not be surprised if he rises in the next wave of ranking updates
Three-star RB Chukwuma Odoh had an impressive touchdown run in Paramus Catholic’s (NJ) 22-18 loss to the Hun School, a local powerhouse. Points came at a premium in this game, and Odoh was able to bounce a dead inside running play all the way to the edge for a score. He had a handful of other impressive broken tackles and jukes in the loss.
