Federal immigration agent shoots and injures man in Austin, Texas

Twenty-eight people died at the Christian girls' camp during July 2025's deadly flooding in the Hill Country.

Austin law enforcement have started their own investigation the shooting of Wilber Garces Perez and have asked federal investigators for "key" pieces of evidence.

The decision comes days after the Texas Supreme Court ruled the child's genetic parents can transport him to California, where they live, to get further medical care for a serious heart condition.

Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said there was no active threat to the community, though investigators are still searching for the perpetrator involved in the shooting.

A second poll, from Texas 2036, shows a large fraction of voters remain undecided, while many intend to split their tickets.
