An investigation is underway, officials said, after a man was critically injured in a shooting that happened in the backyard of a home near Temple University on Monday morning.
School officials warned students early Monday that a 20-year-old man — who was not affiliated with the university — was shot in the backyard of a home along the 2000 block of North 18th Street at about 1:27 a.m. on Monday.
The man had been shot in his chin, chest and legs, according to police.
Police transported the victim to a nearby hospital where, officials said, he was listed in critical condition.
In a morning update, police told NBC10 that investigators believe the shooting happened at “some sort of party,” but officials did not immediately provide further information on a suspected shooter or motive in this incident.
Officials said an investigation is ongoing on Monday morning.
