Rewatching a childhood favorite can be dangerous. Some movies instantly bring back the feeling of sitting too close to the television with a snack, while others make you wonder how anyone convinced you to sit through them more than once. Maybe they were too slow, too sad, or simply the movie adults insisted was a “classic” while you stared desperately at the clock. Of course, childhood taste rarely had anything to do with reviews or filmmaking quality. We wanted adventure, jokes, memorable characters, and preferably nothing that felt suspiciously like homework.
