Brown was a 2024 Olympian, where he had the misfortune of a first round matchup against the man formerly known as Keno Machado, currently known as Keno Marley, who ended his Paris experience early by decision. Cruiserweight is a strange corner of the boxing universe, though, with two or three top tier operators, a handful of aging names, and a whole lot of nobody really knows what to make of them until they fight each other guys. So, a promising young lad with a nation behind him can find a fast track to being In The Mix, which is where Brown finds himself in just his 7th pro fight.
He’ll try to claim a pair of resume-building domestic belts against Hedges, who enters at 12-0 (3 KO) despite being just 24, and two years younger than Brown. Hedges was last seen earning a decision win over Ellis Zorro back in December. That’s probably the best win on either man’s ledger, but it came against a Zorro that’s been on a 1-5 skid since getting his own big shot against Jai Opetaia. Brown is the man with a history of knockout power, and the favorite, but this is a nice little domestic matchup and the winner should get a healthy boost in a division where even a journeyman is one good win away from credibly booking a world title fight.
ON THE UNDERCARD: Shabazz Mahoud goes for a lesser IBF belt against Ckari Cani Mansilla, an Argentinian that’s gone 4-3 in the last six and a half years. And a nice domestic super middleweight matchup between Mark Jeffers and Kieron Conway, both looking to rebound from TKO losses in October of 2025.
BLKPrime, 8:00 pm ET Skyy Myles Promotions Presents: The Supper
From Baltimore, Maryland. BLK Prime, remember? Still a thing! This is a show where the matchup boxing fans will know is Lorenzo “Truck” Simpson fighting a 10 rounder against former Diego Pacheco opponent Shawn McCalman. But, the promotion is hyping this as the pro boxing debut of Chrisean “Holy Hands” Malone, a.k.a. “Chrisean Rock.” Why? Well, she’s got a fan base. Chrisean won a $10,000 grand prize on FOX’s short-lived reality competition show Ultimate Tag. At the risk of mocking someone who may have serious mental health concerns (the “Legal Issues” section of her Wikipedia entry features nine paragraphs), I’ll just summarize everything after by saying she appeared in an OnlyFans series hosted by Blueface, who BLH regulars may recall as having been one of the Misfits Boxing idiots for a time. The show sounds wild, and featured Chrisean losing a tooth in “an altercation.” That OnlyFans show led to a three year relationship with Blueface, and a son she named Chrisean Jesus Malone, Jr, whose birth she livestreamed on Instagram. When a podcast interview questioned her about thoroughly documented smoking and drinking during her pregnancy, Wikipedia summarizes her response as:
[S]he stated that she “doesn’t accept” medical diagnoses and said “God says what God says. I don’t have to accept what you [say]. So, it’s really me protecting a revelation that I heard from the Lord over my son.”, implying she is being led by faith rather than alleged diagnoses of mental disabilities.
Neat! Chrisean also appeared on a Zeus Network reality show called Baddies and played as a running back in a women’s pro football league. Now, she’s a boxer! It’ll cost you $29.99 as a BLK Prime PPV if you want to watch.
Isaac Cruz vs Nestor Bravo (DAZN, 8:00 pm ET)

From San Diego, California, for Cruz’s interim WBC super lightweight belt. Cruz has been an interim champ for over a year now. Bravo you may recall from his win over Pedro Campa in support of Subriel Matias vs Dalton Smith, where Smith won the full version of this WBC belt back in January. But, hey, it’s boxing, so plenty of belts to go around when there are licensing fees to charge! Cruz is generally a crowdpleaser, fighting with aggression and intensity. Bravo could make a good action matchup, so definitely worth your viewing consideration on an otherwise soft week for the sport.
ON THE UNDERCARD: It’s an interim extravaganza! Jesus Ramos defends his interim WBC middleweight title against undefeated Kazakh Meiirim Nursultanov. That’s two solid, promising style matchups at the top of the card, which is more than you get from a lot of shows these days. If you need more, there are some super middleweight fights with Daniel Blancas and Lazaro Lorenzana looking to fatten their records against two different unheralded Mexican opponents in their mid to late 30s.
