The 2026 Purdue football season is off to a fast start here. After going 1-0 with a win last week against the Sycamores, Purdue now sees Wake Forest come to town. The Demon Deacons are also 1-0 this season with a win against Akron in the books. This is the first real test for both teams. The SP+ ratings have these two teams at 67 (Wake) and 68 (Purdue) further indicating this is going to be a close game.
These two teams don’t have much of a history together. They’ve faced each other just one time and that was back in 2003. In my opinion it’s nice to see new opponents come to Ross-Ade instead of the same crew. Of course, I also want Purdue to win so I’m conflicted.
