Spencer Sutherland is headed to NYC to make his Broadway debut as Romeo in the musical & Juliet. He will begin his run at the Stephen Sondheim Theatre on September 15.
He shared more about stepping into this role:

Sutherland’s Broadway debut comes at an exciting time in his career. He has sold out tours across North America and Europe, and has also collaborated with artist Meghan Trainor on the song “Chicken Little.” Alongside his path in music, Sutherland has also premiered on the big screen starring in Netflix’s Afterlife of the Party alongside Victoria Justice.
& Juliet reimagines Shakespeare’s iconic love story by asking one simple question: what if Juliet’s story didn’t end with Romeo? This musical has been nominated for nine Tony Awards, including a Best Musical nomination in 2023. This production was created by Schitt’s Creek writer David West Read and features a soundtrack built around the catalog of legendary songwriter and producer Max Martin. The soundtrack includes hits such as “Since U Been Gone,” “Roar,” “I Want It That Way,” and “Confident.” The production is directed by Luke Sheppard with choreography by Jennifer Weber.
Sutherland is not the only person who will be making his Broadway debut in & Juliet on September 15th. Singer-songwriter and social media personality Anthony Garigula will make his debut as Francois. Kenzie Ziegler, best known for her music and for her years on the show Dance Moms will also make her Broadway debut that day as Charmion.
Fans are given the opportunity to celebrate Spencer’s debut at a special one-night-only Fan Night on Thursday, September 24, presented in partnership with iHeartMedia New York’s Z100.
