Ole Miss secured a big win against the Florida Gators on Saturday evening, pushing their overall record to an impressive 10-1. Following the game, head coach Lane Kiffin answered questions about a lingering rumor, which involved the team that he and his team just finished defeating.

Lane Kiffin Comments On Immediate Coaching Future

There is plenty of speculation about the Florida job. Billy Napier was let go nearly a month ago after the Gators limped out to a 3-4 start to the 2025 season, opening one of the more coveted jobs in college football. The program has long been on the search for a leader that can bring them back to relevance in terms of national championship contention, and the next hire will be the 8th head coach since 2001.

One of the names that has been getting the most attraction and attention when it comes to Florida’s upcoming coaching search is that of Lane Kiffin.

TRENDING: Lane Kiffin was bluntly asked if he’ll be HC at Ole Miss next season. He deflected the question.

“I love what we’re doing here. I don’t talk about that stuff. And to do that would be disrespectful to the players,” Kiffin said.

Kiffin has been with Ole Miss since 2020, and has posted an overall record of 72-53. He has been mentioned in rumors for head coach openings in years past, but has always opted to remain Oxford with the Rebels. And if you ask Kiffin directly, he isn’t thinking about the upcoming offseason, and certainly not about his future once the current season ends.

When asked about the upcoming possibilities, including the Florida job, Kiffin had the following comments during his post game interview on Saturday:

I love what we’re doing here…we’ve got a lot of things going here. Doing really well. I love it here.

The win over the Gators solidifies Ole Miss’ standing in the college football playoff picture. They entered the weekend ranked 7th in the nation, and will likely move up when the new standings are released for the coming week. The Rebels have just one game left on their schedule, which will be played against Mississippi State after they enjoy an open date this coming week.

Should they be victorious in their regular season finale, Kiffin and company are a sure-fire playoff team in 2025.
