Veterans Valor and the Morris County Park Commission will hold a groundbreaking ceremony for The Gateway to the Gardens at 4:30 p.m. at The Frelinghuysen Arboretum, 353 East Hanover Road, Morris Township. The event begins a seven-garden sanctuary of remembrance and renewal for veterans and families, supported by the Morristown Rotary Club and other civic partners. Steel Magnolias blossoms onstage as Pioneer Productions opens its six-show run of Robert Harling’s beloved play at 8 p.m. at the Morristown United Methodist Church, 50 South Park Place. Set in a small-town Louisiana beauty salon, the story celebrates friendship, love, and resilience among women who share life’s joys and sorrows with wit and warmth.
