If you’re an iPhone user, then you might want to check out Google’s new update for Chrome on iOS, which adds new customization options for the New Tab Page, which were previously reserved for the desktop version of the browser. That said, the update allows iPhone and iPad users to personalize their start page with wallpapers and theme colours.
Until now, Chrome on iOS offered extremely limited customization only allowing for light or dark mode changes. Google is now addressing this gap by making the full personalization menu available directly within the Chrome beta, without the need for hidden settings or experimental flags.

As spotted by the folks over at MacObserver, Users can access the new “Customize Home Page” panel by simply tapping the pencil icon located in the top-left corner of the New Tab Page, which will display several available wallpapers. Additionally, tapping the “+” icon unlocks more detailed personalization with access to “Themes,” “Camera Roll” for personal images, and “Colours” for custom color schemes.

Google is expected to roll out these detailed New Tab Page customization features to more iPhone and iPad users in the stable release soon.
