Pat McAfee Responds to Backlash for Having President Trump on His Show

Pat McAfee has no time for anyone upset that he welcomed President Donald Trump on a special Veterans Day edition of his show. In fact, the WVU legend turned media mogul offered one clear message after receiving backlash on Tuesday.

“I would like to say, though, for the immediate people that are mad about that happening, it’s the President of the United States. It’s Veterans Day. He’s the Commander-in-Chief. Obviously, if we have the opportunity to talk to him, we’re going to. And he is hilarious,” said McAfee in response to those criticizing his decision to have Trump on, per Fox News.

McAfee even added that he also invited former President Barack Obama as well. According to McAfee, Obama was unable to be on the show due to a scheduling conflict.

Trump did not appear visually, instead he just called into the show that airs on ESPN daily in addition to being stranded on YouTube.

Some of the topics the president discussed with the media star include Trump’s hatred of the NFL’s current kickoff rules, the team Philadelphia Eagles Super Bowl visit to the White House, Nick Saban and even the Ryder Cup.

Trump’s guest spot came days after McAfee broke the news that the president was going to attend the Washington Commanders game against the Detroit Lions.
