Siddipet: Rebarthi village in Maddur mandal plunged into mourning on Monday as news of poet Ande Sri’s death spread. Born as Ande Yellaiah, he was the son of Ande Boddaiah and Yellamma.
Ande Sri, who never attended school, worked as a cattle grazer for a landlord in the village during his childhood. Students of the local government school paid tribute by observing a moment of silence during morning prayers.
Many people from neighbouring villages visited the house where he once lived. Villagers recalled his warm and humble nature, saying he maintained close ties with them even after moving to Hyderabad and remained accessible over the phone.
