As far as I am aware, Pelosi has never publicly called for a $2,000 check before today (it should, of course, be a $2,000 monthly check comparable to what every other developed Western country has been providing, but that is another story). This is the first time I have ever heard her say this. Pelosi and the House Democratic caucuses in the House and Senate, as far as I am aware, were NOT on public record in calling for larger stimulus checks until Trump's latest move. Bernie Sanders was, but he spoke only for himself. If I am wrong on this, please correct me.
