Las Vegas Raiders made a strong push for Jesse Minter

The Las Vegas Raiders are looking for a new head coach after firing Pete Carroll after the 2025 season. This time around, the Silver and Black have been extensive in their search, interviewing 14 candidates in the last two weeks.

One of those they interviewed was Jesse Minter. Minter is the defensive coordinator of the Los Angeles Chargers, and he helped lead the unit to back-to-back top ten finishes in points allowed. His performance on defense has put him on the map for a head coaching job.

After having a second interview with the Raiders, Minter decided to join another football organization. On Thursday, it was announced that he will be joining the Baltimore Ravens as their next head coach. The move leaves the Raiders still in pursuit of their next franchise leader.

Jordan Schultz of Fox and the Schultz Report added a few nuggets on the situation regarding how much the Raiders were in on Minter. He said there was a strong push from the franchise over the last 24 hours to keep him from the Ravens.

The Raiders will look to the offensive side of the ball, with the best candidates being offensive coordinators coaching during championship week. Klint Kubiak, Davis Webb, and Mike Lefluer have all been connected to the Raiders and have been involved in deciding who wins the game; the Raiders could have a coach by next week. It will be interesting to see how this all plays out.
