If team A offered you $100 million guaranteed and team B offered you $25 million a year for four years with only the first year and a signing bonus guaranteed - what would you take?
Answer that, then consider what players do in that situation.
Concrete example: L Bell sat out a year because he wasn't getting enough guaranteed money in Steelers' offers. They missed the playoffs in 2018. He could have been the difference. Signed with Jets after the season because they offered more guaranteed money.
