Comment on Even Missing A Franchise QB, Yesterday Proved Why Pittsburgh’s Head Coach Job Is Better Than Buffalo’s by Steve Smith
Awesome article Alex. IMO it speaks to what we all have been lucky enough to witness for as long as I have been a fan-50 years now. I will never forget in 2016 when Dan Rooney went into the Cowboys locker room after we had just lost a very competitive game 35-30 and congratulated Jerry Jones and his team. Jones himself spoke of the moment after learning of Mr Rooney's passing and commented it exhibited the class and respect this ownership has for the game. I get everyone has their opinions on Art II, mostly negative, but I myself don't blame ownership. Building a perennial winner is not easy. We have had other down year stretches (1980-1993). Yeah we are 0-7 in playoffs the last 10 years, a couple of those we were favored and in most we played a better team. We have to look at the past with unbiased eyes if we want to make the best decisions moving forward. I agree not just as a Steelers fan-but a football fan, that the HC job of the Pittsburgh Steelers is not one that becomes available every decade-so if I were a relevant, talented HC candidate with a vision and absolute resolution to become the next great NFL HC-I would heavily consider this job above most.
