The National Weather Service released a winter weather advisory at 11:18 a.m. on Thursday valid from Saturday 6 a.m. until Sunday 6 p.m. for Marion, Lamar, Fayette, Winston and Walker counties.
The weather service states, "Mixed precipitation expected. Snow and sleet accumulations up to one inch and ice accumulations up to one quarter inch."
