It reads as if SCOTUS is fairly lucid about how important it for the Fed to be independent. Wall Street depends upon this as the bedrock of policy formation. Of course, they cheer interest rate reduction by buying stocks and pushing the indexes up and of course, they drive indexes down by selling when interest rates rise. However, they count on the Fed to do the math and thoughtfully deliberate - something Trump is incapable of! An independent Fed allows the atmosphere for economic trust, which is vital to a free market. We owe the world-leading economy not to any temporary leader's actions, but to the steadfast and reliable independence of the Fed. This must be maintained for future prosperity. Former Republican leaders have been among the strongest proponents of an independent Fed, but an idependent fed does nothing for Trump's insatiable ego or his ability to grift! With him, everything is transactional!
