India is extremely corrupt. All politicians pay cash to buy votes and want to enrich themselves at the expense of the people. They often buy on behalf of the government things at 10x the retail market price of the same thing sold in India. Think about it. All food is adulterated, and the greed of these money grubbers is unfathomable. They siphon off most of the money to foreign locations. Modi has made this into an art form. As long as he gets his share, you can steal anything.
