To flip to the other side of the issue: I don't think women should be cops. It would be unfair to describe all female cops as in the following, but there is enough to be a problem. While a male cop might thump on a subject whom he thinks disrespected him after cameras are no longer in the way, take a scenario where there is no problem if the cops and the subject are all male. Insert a woman cop and she can escalate a situation with all that nonstop, bitchy, demeaning/emasculatory yammering and general pushiness directed at the subject like her husband is serially neglecting to take out the trash, put the toilet seat down, or changing out the toilet paper roll - except on a much more serious scale. Men tend to rally around the women in their circle and instead of telling her to shut the hell up and quit escalating the situation. This not only goes on with patrol units, but in jails too. This is a parallel with anti-ICE harpies, just opposite sides.
