It appears Spurs have some of those good vibes back after a convincing 2-0 win against Dortmund in the Champions League yesterday.

There was a lot of chatter heading into the match about the lack of available first-team players for Spurs. Thankfully, in the best-case scenario that unfolded on Tuesday, Tottenham got to put one of those youths on that pitch.

That youth: Jun’ai Byfield:

Here is what he wrote in the accompanying instagram post:

Happy to make my first competitive debut especially for it to be in the champions league. Also happy to become Tottenhams youngest Ucl player

He played a significant number of minutes, too, replacing Lucas Bergvall in the 63rd minute. Speaking to reporters after the game, Thomas Frank said Byfield didn’t look out of place at all.

And he was even gifted a signed shirt after the game.

  • Tottenham debut
  • Champions League debut
  • Home win versus Dortmund

That all sounds like a dream start for his career at Tottenham.

BBC: “’Good signs’ or just buying time? Spurs remain divided on Frank future”

Alasdair Gold: “Every word Thomas Frank said on his Tottenham future, Jun’ai Byfield and what he will do tonight”

The Standard: “Three things we learned from Tottenham win as players step up to save Thomas Frank from sack”

Jack P-B ($$): “Many expected Thomas Frank’s Spurs tenure to end this week. How has he survived?”
