Brooklyn Beckham, 26, is the eldest child of Victoria and David Beckham, the fashion designer and sports legend who are, by all accounts, pop culture royalty.
Nicola Peltz, 31, now Nicola Peltz Beckham, is the daughter of billionaire Nelson Peltz, who made his fortune as the founder of investment firm Trian Fund Management. He is worth $1.6 billion, according to Forbes. She
Beckham, a model and photographer, and Peltz, also a model and actor, met at Coachella in 2017. The pair reconnected at Leonardo DiCaprio's Halloween party two years later and ended the night with a late-night dinner. After that, they began dating.

After less than a year of dating, Beckham announced on his social media that the pair were engaged. He proposed with a custom diamond ring.
"Two weeks ago I asked my soulmate to marry me, and she said yes," he wrote in his Instagram caption. "I am the luckiest man in the world. I promise to be the best husband and the best daddy one day."
Both the Beckham and Peltz families publicly expressed their happiness, including Victoria.
"We could not be happier that @brooklynbeckham and @nicolaannepeltz are getting married! Wishing you so much love and a lifetime of happiness," Victoria wrote on Instagram alongside a photo of the newly engaged couple.
David Beckham and Brooklyn's brothers, Romeo and Cruz, also offered their congratulations, People reported.
At the time, the engagement was widely seen as a blending of two high-profile families with no visible signs of tension.

Brooklyn and Nicola tied the knot in April 2022 at the Peltz family's Palm Beach estate in a celebration that Elle estimated cost almost $4 million.
Peltz wore a custom Valentino gown for the occasion, which was "the culmination of a year's worth of conversations with Valentino," Vogue reported.
However, Peltz also told Variety that she had originally hoped to wear a design by her mother-in-law-to-be, but was unable to do so because her "atelier couldn't do it," she told Variety in August 2022.
After Peltz did not wear a Victoria Beckham gown, rumors swirled of a potential family feud.

Peltz Beckham told Variety that rumors of a family feud appeared to have started after she wore the Valentino gown on her wedding day, but she dispelled any deeper meaning or tension with her mother-in-law.
"She didn't say you can't wear it; I didn't say I didn't want to wear it. That's where it started, and then they ran with that," she said.
Her husband also denied any tension at the time, saying, "I've learned they're always going to try to write stuff like that. They're always going to try and put people down. But everyone gets along, which is good."
In a late 2022 interview with Grazia Magazine, Peltz Beckham also negated any rift with her husband's family, calling them "great in-laws."

Most notably, she wasn't spotted at Victoria Beckham's 50th birthday celebration in London in April 2024.
Her absence stood out given the scale and public nature of the event, fueling speculation about lingering tensions within the family.
However, the actor shared on Instagram that she had spent the day with her grandmother and wished her mother-in-law a happy birthday.

At the time, People, citing a source, reported that the pair skipped the family celebration because they didn't want to attend alongside Brooklyn's younger brother, Romeo Beckham, and his girlfriend, Kim Turnbull, with whom Brooklyn was linked in the past.
Another source cited "tensions" in the family and said that David Beckham was told to choose between having Kim and Nicola at the celebration, and ultimately decided to side with Romeo and Kim in the dispute.

In a series of posts on his Instagram story in January 2026, Brooklyn detailed the ongoing dispute with his parents and made several accusations against them, including that they put the family brand over "family love" and that his mother had pulled out of making his wife's wedding dress at the "eleventh hour."
"I have been silent for years and have made every attempt to keep these matters private. Unfortunately, my parents and their team have continued to go to the press, leaving me with no choice but to speak for myself and tell the truth about only some of the lies that have been printed," he wrote."I do not want to reconcile with my family. I'm not being controlled, I'm standing up for myself for the first time in my life."
He also said that his mother hijacked his first dance with Nicola at their 2022 wedding, saying that she "danced very inappropriately on me in front of everyone," adding that he had "never felt more uncomfortable or humiliated in my entire life."
In response to the couple's absence from David Beckham's 50th birthday party, Brooklyn said they made multiple attempts to spend time with his father while in London, but were refused unless it was at the large party "with a hundred guests and cameras at every corner."
"When he finally agreed to see me, it was under the condition that Nicola wasn't invited," Brooklyn wrote.
Brooklyn said that his parents told him they did not consider his wife, Nicola, to be "family," and alleged that they made repeated efforts to involve women from his past in his life after he began dating her.

Appearing on CNBC's "Squawk Box" podcast a day later in January 2026, David Beckham addressed the impact of social media on mental health following his son, Brooklyn's, statement.
Although not speaking directly about the statement, he said his children have "made mistakes," while emphasizing both the positive and negative power of social media, People reported.
"They make mistakes, but children are allowed to make mistakes. That is how they learn. That is what I try to teach my kids," he said. "You sometimes have to let them make those mistakes as well."
