Hello Concerned. Yes, Congress is required to follow the law, as does ICE. The purpose of the Congressional Oversight Committee is to see how these detention centers are being run. How people are being treated and the environment in which they are placed. A 7-day notice allows time to clean up and change the narrative if needed. ICE has no say in this because Congress writes the laws on immigration. It's ICE's responsibility to follow them. I hope this has helped.
