
I do have a theory of what it is. It's not a kids-vs-adults thing. B&S and Bonelab are not kids games.
It's about unique VR game plays focused on movement and interactivity -- things impossible on flat screens. Traditional game elements don't seem to matter that much for most VR players.
I personally prefer the rich world and characters, and superb acting in Deadpool and Batman. For the far more people who bought Bonelab rather than Deadpool, I guess they prefer more things to pick up and mess with than more NPCs that talk.
