United Airlines flight diverted to Chicago over ‘disruptive' passenger

A United flight headed to San Francisco was diverted Monday to Chicago’s O’Hare Airport due to an unruly passenger.

According to the airline, United Flight 1129 was traveling from Washington Dulles to San Francisco when they say a “customer became disruptive.”

United said law enforcement met the aircraft at the gate in Chicago and the passenger was taken into custody. The FBI confirmed it responded to the scene and “coordinated with local law enforcement,” but no details were provided.

Data from FlightAware shows the flight landed around 9:30 p.m.

Remaining passengers were rebooked on another flight set to land in San Francisco early Tuesday morning.
