Here's the contract I'd give him. Two years 50 million with a 10 million signing bonus. The first year is fully guaranteed.
2026 cap hit: 18 million
Salary: 15 million
Signing bonus prorated: 3 million
2027 cap hit: 42 million
Salary: 35 million
Signing bonus prorated: 7 million
Malik would get essentially one season at 25 million to prove he's the guy. If not you can waive him and save 28 million in 2027. If he makes it you simply work out and extension with him.
His 18 million cap in 2026 doesn't completely handicap the team from improving other areas as they should easily have another 20-30 million to spend in free agency.
