Chargers interview Cardinals pass game coordinator for OC vacancy

The Chargers doubled up on interviews for their vacant offensive coordinator position on Monday as they followed Arthur Smith’s interview with another involving Cardinals pass game coordinator/wide receivers coach Drew Terrell.

Terrell has been in his role since the 2023 season and has previous NFL stops with the Carolina Panthers (2018-2019) and Washington Commanders (2020-2022).

Before becoming a coach, Terrell played collegiately at Stanford from 2009-2012. His first two seasons came under Chargers head coach Jim Harbaugh before the latter took the job as head coach of the 49ers. Terrell was Stanford’s leading receiver in 2012 when they went 12-2 en route to winning the Pac-12 Championship and the Rose Bowl.

This past season, Cardinals wide receiver Michael Wilson became the first Arizona wideout since DeAndre Hopkins in 2020 to go over 1,000 yards in a season. Quarterbacks Kyler Murray and Jacoby Brissett combined to throw for 4,328 yards and 29 touchdowns in 2025, as well, which would have ranked fifth in the NFL this year among passing yards leaders during the regular season.
