Ben Stiller rants over Knicks’ loss against the Mavericks
Ben Stiller couldn’t contain his frustration following the New York Knicks’ defeat to the Dallas Mavericks. The super fan expressed significant disappointment on social media after the team’s 114-97 loss at Madison Square Garden on Monday. Stiller, known for his unwavering support of the Knicks, appeared to voice the frustrations of many fans during the Mavericks vs Knicks game. What’s going on,” the “Zoolander” star’s tweet on X (formerly Twitter) read.
He followed it up with another post, saying “f———————”. “This is a team issue, not a player issue,” Stiller wrote in a third post during the Knicks game. The New Yorker further attempted to rally his spirits with a final post, stating, “Trying to stay positive.” Fellow Knicks fans are no strangers to Stiller’s frustration, considering the team’s recent slump of four straight losses and nine defeats in 11 games since New Year’s Eve.
Concurring opinions poured in with one fan commenting, “we’ll be okay but it’s frustrating”. “Knicks are a damn mess right now. What happened to the team I love?”, echoed another. The Monday night defeat was particularly galling, with the team getting booed off the court at halftime with a 28-point halftime deficit. I’m okay with the boos,” Knicks head coach Mike Brown said in a post-game interview.
“I mean, if we’re playing crapy…boo. If I was in the stands, I’d probably boo too. You pay [hard-earned] money to come to the game, and this is a form of entertainment for the fans; they know good basketball, and they know bad basketball. And we didn’t play good basketball in the first half, so I’m okay with the boos.” Brown addressed his team’s performance in his postgame press conference, expressing disappointment and briefly using an expletive, for which he apologized.
