Bengals sign Tanner Hudson to contract extension

The Cincinnati Bengals are in the evaluation process as they navigate one of the more important offseasons in team history. With a defense that consistently let them down over the last two seasons, most fans are looking for them to be active on that side of the ball.

One of their first moves of the offseason comes on the offensive side of the ball, where they signed tight end Tanner Hudson to a one-year contract extension.

Hudson, who has been with the Bengals since 2022, is heading in to his seventh season in the NFL. Hudson has started two games during his time in Cincinnati and, at times, has been a go-to target for Joe Burrow in the red zone, sometimes in important moments.

Hudson has caught 77 passes for 674 yards and four touchdowns since coming to Cincinnati, and while Mike Gesicki is listed above him on the depth chart, Hudson could see significant snaps in 2026, assuming the Bengals don’t bring back Noah Fant. Gesicki lines up as a receiver quite a bit, so Hudson and Drew Sample should both see significant snaps, provided they are on the roster after final cuts in training camp.

Hudson is back in the fold, and we await the rest of the moves the Bengals make (or don’t make) between now and next season.
