The Wisconsin Badgers made one more addition in the transfer portal, landing Augustana transfer offensive lineman Stylz Blackmon, he announced on Monday morning.
Blackmon was a recruit in the Class of 2024, committing to Augustana out of Grain Valley High School in Missouri. Standing 6’4, 300 pounds, he played in all 12 games as a freshman for Augustana, starting 10, and was part of an offense that ranked fourth in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC).
Blackmon played in 11 games this past season, earning All-NSIC South Division First-Team honors as a true sophomore. He’ll now make the jump up from D-II to the Big Ten, and is the fifth transfer offensive lineman to join the team this offseason via the transfer portal.
Wisconsin has landed Oklahoma State transfer Austin Kawecki, who figures to start at center for the Badgers in 2025. They also got Ole Miss transfer P.J. Wilkins, Florida State transfer Lucas Simmons, and Arkansas transfer Blake Cherry, who all figure to be competing in the two-deep this offseason. Now, Blackman provides extra depth, likely on the interior.
The Badgers didn’t lose many offensive linemen this offseason, but their top two returners, Jake Renfro and Joe Brunner, entered the transfer portal. The only other offensive lineman they lost was Leyton Nelson, so they’ve added quite a bit at the position, with four-star freshman Brady Bekkenhuis also joining the mix.
With all the newcomers, Wisconsin is up to 16 scholarship offensive linemen this season:
Barrett Nelson (senior)
Austin Kawecki (senior)
Lucas Simmons (junior)
PJ Wilkins (junior)
Stylz Blackmon (junior)
Emerson Mandell (sophomore)
Ryan Cory (sophomore)
Colin Cubberly (sophomore)
Kevin Heywood (sophomore)
Blake Cherry (sophomore)
Nolan Davenport (freshman)
Logan Powell (freshman)
