The Indiana football program is currently gearing up for the national championship game, which will take place on Monday evening against the Miami Hurricanes. The Hoosiers have had a dominant playoff run so far, blowing out both the Oregon Ducks and the Alabama Crimson Tide en route to the game’s biggest stage, and they will look to secure their first national title in school history against the Hurricanes.
To say that the Hoosiers have the full support of their home state would be an understatement, and earlier in the day on Monday, Indiana Fever superstar Caitlin Clark took to social media with a special message for Indiana ahead of the big game.
“Best of luck to @IndianaFootball we are all pulling for you !! Get it done,” wrote Clark on X, formerly Twitter.
Indiana football has been dominant throughout this season, having not lost a game so far this year and really only coming close to doing so on a couple of occasions.
The Hoosiers will be taking on a Miami team that was let into the playoff in a controversial decision over Notre Dame, but has more than justified that choice from the committee with their play thus far, knocking off the Texas A&M Aggies, Ohio State Buckeyes, and Ole Miss Rebels in order to punch their ticket to the championship game.
The Miami defensive front is full of future NFL talent and will present a big challenge for Indiana, but if Fernando Mendoza has even just a little bit of time in the pocket, he has proven more than capable of making big plays with consistency on this run.
After watching the Indiana Pacers and the Indiana Fever come up short in the playoffs throughout the last 12 months, Indiana fans will hope that the Hoosiers are finally able to bring a championship home to the state.
