Every Monday, we bring you a playlist filled with new tracks the Melodic staff has been listening to on repeat. Hear some of our latest obsessions below:
——
Tyler Shamy, “Potential” – “Potential” explores the pain and regret felt after falling in love with what a person could be, rather than what they actually are. Shamy explores missing red flags, moving too fast, and the ways we beat ourselves up when we realize that the person we had on a pedestal didn’t deserve it, or us. Instead of resorting to being angry, Shamy stirs in more of a disappointed self-reflection, recognizing that the relationship was doomed from the start, but he chose to believe in the possibility of love.

——
Phil. – “stay with me” – For the yearners going into 2026, your new favorite R&B artist has arrived and is delivering music that cuts straight to the soul. R&B sensation, Phil., has released his newest single “stay with me.”
– Rae Bozeman
——
Loviet, “PLUSH” – Sonically, “PLUSH” draws from early-2000s pop rock, with influences cited from The Killers’ Hot Fuss, Yeah Yeah Yeahs’ Show Your Bones, and The Cardigans’ Super Extra Gravity. The song centers on the emotional push and pull of falling in love, capturing the tension between desire and self-awareness.
– Ann Storlie
——
Tally Spear, “Upside Down” – Rolling in from the UK, singer-songwriter Tally Spear has released her newest single, “Upside Down.” Drawing inspiration from artists such as Avril Lavigne, this alt-pop/rock princess brings a fiery energy to each stage she steps upon with songs that retain relatable themes to her listeners. Spear’s music explores themes of social commentary and personal conflicts, which many can relate to in their own sense — her newest single being no exception.
