Jurassic World Rebirth (2025) might have been a huge box office success for Universal, grossing $869.1 million worldwide last summer, but the seventh entry in the long-running film series was torn apart by fans and critics for its underdeveloped script and characters.

The film stars Scarlett Johansson (Avengers: Endgame), Jonathan Bailey (Bridgerton), Manuel Garcia-Rulfo (The Lincoln Lawyer), Rupert Friend (Obi-Wan Kenobi), Mahershala Ali (The Green Book), Luna Blaise (Manifest), David Iacono (Dead Boy Detectives), Audrina Miranda (Lopez vs Lopez), Philippine Velge (Station Eleven), Bechir Sylvain (BMF), and Ed Skrein (Deadpool).

Set on a third InGen island, this one populated with mutant dinosaurs, the latest sequel follows covert ops expert Zora Bennett (Johansson) as she leads a mission to retrieve life-changing DNA from three colossal-sized prehistoric creatures “across land, sea, and air.”

However, while bringing the series back to the jungle island setting, the film swiftly does away with the “global dinosaurs” premise, essentially undoing everything its predecessors Fallen Kingdom (2018) and Dominion (2022) set up; a popular concept that continues to be used across all sorts of tie-in media, including novels, animated shows, and the popular park management simulation series “Jurassic World Evolution”.

Now, the third game in that series, which was released last October across all major consoles and platforms, is preparing to roll out its first Jurassic World Rebirth DLC, following a number of expansions that have been added to the base game since its launch.

The news comes via HeavyGold8 on Reddit, where the user shared Frontier Games’ publicly available live stream in which they discuss their annual report. In the clip, employees confirm that they’ve got a “PDLC for Rebirth coming up”. You can watch the full video here.

While it remains to be seen what the new DLC will feature and when it will drop, fans are already excited to see the return of mutant dinosaurs like the Distortus Rex and the Mutadons, and the new island Ile Saint-Hubert, all of which are likely to return.

The film’s characters, however, are unlikely to appear in the “Jurassic World Evolution 3” Rebirth DLC, so you can rule out seeing Scarlett Johansson and Jonathan Bailey in the game.

Actors from the films who have appeared in the games have only done so in a vocal capacity. Jeff Goldblum lends his voice as Dr. Ian Malcolm in the “Evolution 3” basegame, having done so in the first two entries alongside Bryce Dallas Howard (Claire Dearing) and BD Wong (Henry Wu).

With all that said, Johansson and her co-stars are expected to return in a sequel to Rebirth, which is rumored to be in development. Though yet to be confirmed by Universal Pictures, reports claim that director Gareth Edwards and the leads are in negotiations to return.

“Jurassic World Evolution 3” takes place after the events of Dominion, where players work for the Dinosaur Integration Network (DIN), aiming to rehabilitate and care for the animals in various conservation facilities around the planet.

“Help life find a way,” the official synopsis for the game reads. “Build your own Jurassic World like never before. Nurture generations of awe-inspiring dinosaurs with the series debut of juveniles, create and manage sprawling prehistoric parks around the globe, and let your imagination roar with powerful new creative options.”

The game is available across all major platforms now.
