During a question and answer round, the host asked, “I’m very concerned. Did Ben Affleck quit wearing sneakers?” Fallon called it headline news while the “Gone Girl” star, “And I’m working through this. I don’t know what to say. ” The 53-year-old further added, “I have nothing to say to that. I have no response.” He was asked, “Where did that come from?’ and Affleck answered, “I’m not sure. But if that’s the big scandal in your life, things are probably okay.” As such, Damon joked, “It’s kind of great that the big scandal in your life is you’re old enough now that they worry if you’re wearing comfortable shoes.” Thus, Affleck hilariously responded, “Orthopedics. I’m good, GQ!” In a similar tone, Fallon moved forward to the next conversation. He said, “Matt, and the thing that is going all over the internet is you, by the way, all ripped for The Odyssey.” Fallon showed the duo a picture of “The Martian” actor’s viral look from the upcoming film. The host and the audience began to go gaga over Damon’s physique. Subsequently, Affleck joked, “You know that’s great. You know, I’m in shape,” leaving Fallon in stitches. The filmmaker added, “I’am in shape, but a guy gets in shape once,” “I quit wearing sneakers, how about still in shape?” he quipped. Fallon called it a better headline before asking Damon about his new look. Affleck commented on the photo, “It looks like a guy who just stepped into really cold water, right?” The host disagreed, and Damon stated, “That’s actually-the shells on that beach were like, really jagged, and I was walking like that, because that’s a paprazzi shot from in between takes.” Fallon confirmed with him that it was not from the movie.
