Hogs Head to Tulsa for MLK Day Match
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The Arkansas men’s tennis team (5-0) heads back on the road on Monday, Jan. 19 for a match against Tulsa at 6 p.m. at Michael D. Case Tennis Center. Arkansas and Tulsa previously matched up last season, as the Golden Hurricane earned a 4-3 victory in Fayetteville. This is the beginning of a three-match road stand for the team. This weekend, the Razorbacks swept their home opening doubleheader over FGCU, 4-0, and Oral Roberts, 4-0. Gabriel Elicha Navas went 2-0 in singles while the squad continues its impressive start to the season, only losing one point thus far in the match against UTRGV. Tulsa is off to a 2-0 start, beating Florida Gulf Coast twice in a doubleheader on Friday, Jan. 17. The Golden Hurricane are led by Nikita Volonski and Timothy Carlsson Seger, playing No. 1 and No. 2 singles, respectively. The tandem of No. 38 Komagata/Thomas Doig lead their doubles lineup. The Hogs will look to become 5-0 for the first time since 2023 and the 10th time in program history. Video links for the match are available on the men’s tennis schedule page. Arkansas Gets First Win of the Season Sunday
The No. 10 Gymbacks opened their 2026 home slate on Sunday and came out on top over No. 6 Auburn, 197-250-196.075. Arkansas won at least a share of all the event titles, save for floor. The day began on a very high note as redshirt junior Lauren Williams scored a 9.975 on vault, which tied for the program individual record. Freshman Allison Cucci continued her solid start to her collegiate career and tied for the bars title with a score of 9.900. Sophomore Joscelyn Roberson delivered her standard excellence on beam with a 9.950 for the event crown. In her second Arkansas all-around performance, Morgan Price tallied a 39.475, good for first place and just .025 off her career high, 39.500. Hailey Klein also competed all-around and scored 39.225, her new career high and good for third place. Redshirt senior Frankie Price returned to the floor lineup for the first time since sustaining an ankle injury in the regional finals last spring, and she earned a 9.875, Arkansas’ highest floor score of the day. Vault Ja’Leigh Lang opened the vault lineup with a score of 9.775 for her Yurchenko full and Leah Smith followed with a 9.875 for the same vault. Cucci kicked off the Yurchenko 1.5s for Arkansas and went 9.850. Following a 9.725 from Klein, the Gymbacks were looking to bounce back a bit and Williams answered the call. She stuck it cold for a 9.975, a new personal best and matching the program best. Morgan Price anchored with a 9.900, which brought Arkansas’ vault score to 49.375. Bars After a 9.775 from Roberson in the lead-off spot, the scores kept building for the Razorbacks on bars as Klein went 9.825 and Smith went 9.875. Freshman Avalon Campbell made her Arkansas debut in the fourth spot and scored 9.800. Cucci went fifth and scored 9.900 with a stick, and Price concluded the rotation with a 9.850. The Gymbacks notched a 49.250 event score on bars. Beam Sophomore Madison Gustitus began the beam lineup with a 9.850, Klein got a 9.825, and Cucci earned a 9.850 to take Arkansas midway through the lineup. After an uncharacteristic fall from Cami Weaver, Morgan Price righted the ship with a solid routine, complete with stick, that went 9.925. Roberson did her job extremely well as always in the final spot and got a 9.950. Arkansas concluded beam with a 49.400, its best event score of the day. Floor Klein and Morgan Price went 9.800 and 9.850 in the first two spots of the floor lineup, respectively. Smith got a 9.725 in third, with Williams, Frankie Price and Roberson due up. Williams got a 9.850 in her season debut on the event with solid tumbling and her typical high performance quality. Frankie Price made her triumphant return to the floor and went 9.875, with two big passes and solid leaps. Roberson finished with a 9.850, which sealed Arkansas’ 49.225 on floor. Up Next The Gymbacks stay at home for a non-conference meet against SEMO on Friday, Jan. 23 at 7:15 p.m. at Bud Walton Arena. Tickets are available online, by phone, or in person. The contest will be broadcast live on SEC Network+ and live scoring will be provided by Virtius.
